Stroke Awareness Course

A Level 3 short course on recognising stroke symptoms, supporting recovery, and promoting prevention for individuals at risk of or affected by stroke.

Our Stroke Awareness Course is a Level 3 short course designed for care workers and support staff who support individuals affected by stroke. The course covers the different types of stroke, recognising symptoms using the FAST tool, the immediate emergency response, and the recovery and rehabilitation journey. Staff will learn how to support individuals with communication, mobility, and swallowing difficulties after a stroke, and how to promote secondary prevention through lifestyle and health management. Grounded in the social model of care, the training emphasises person-centred rehabilitation that respects the individual's goals, preferences, and right to participate fully in their recovery.
