Our children and adult social care courses are aimed at front line staff and management. We deliver Level 3 courses that help you demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and skills in specialist social care activities. Our courses are based on regulated units, meaning you receive both a Level 3 certificate of completion AND RQF credit certificates from an Ofqual recognised awarding body. These credits can be used as prior learning towards RQF qualifications.

Health and Safety

Passenger Transport

What You Will Learn

  • Safe transport of individuals at risk, including elderly passengers and those with mobility needs.
  • Correct use of wheelchair restraints, passenger lifts, and vehicle safety equipment.
  • Risk assessment for transport, including passenger suitability and journey planning.
  • Legal responsibilities and duty of care when transporting people at risk.
  • Emergency procedures and breakdown protocols when transporting passengers.

Oliver McGowan Training

  • The national standard for care worker induction, covering all 15 standards of the Care Certificate.
  • Understanding your role, duty of care, and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Health and safety, infection prevention and control, and moving and handling.
  • Communication, privacy and dignity, and person-centred support.
  • Nutrition, fluids, mental health, dementia, and learning disability awareness.
  • Practical skills assessment to demonstrate competency in each standard.

12 weeks (blended learning). Online theory modules with face-to-face practical assessment at our Cheadle training centre or your premises.

Care Certificate issued upon successful completion of all 15 standards and practical assessment.
