A Level 3 short course on supporting individuals with visual, hearing, and dual sensory impairments in care and community settings.
Our Sensory Needs Course is a Level 3 short course that helps care workers and support staff understand and respond to the needs of individuals with sensory impairments. The course covers visual impairment, hearing loss, deafblindness, and the practical strategies and communication methods that enable individuals to maintain independence and quality of life.
Grounded in the social model of care and human rights-based practice, the training promotes strength-based, person-centred approaches that focus on what individuals can do, not what they cannot, and equip staff to support people in a way that promotes independence, dignity, and full participation in their community.
