An advanced, Ofqual regulated teaching qualification developing the skills and knowledge required to plan, deliver, assess, and evaluate teaching and training in further education, workplace, and adult learning settings.
The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is an Ofqual regulated qualification that builds on the foundations of the Level 3 Award, developing more advanced teaching, assessment, and curriculum design skills. It is designed for individuals who are already teaching or training, or who have completed the Level 3 Award, and want to develop their practice to a higher level. This certificate covers the theories and principles of teaching and learning, planning and delivering inclusive sessions, assessing learners, using resources effectively, and engaging with quality assurance processes. It is the replacement for the former CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) qualification and is recognised across the further education and training sector.
The course requires learners to be in a teaching or training role, as it includes observed teaching practice in a real environment. It is ideal for those who want to progress from the Level 3 Award and take on greater responsibility for curriculum design, assessment strategy, and quality improvement.
