Our Health and Safety Care Courses are designed and developed to meet your learning needs as a care and support worker, ensuring you have all the essential knowledge and, most importantly, prevent workplace accidents and health hazards. The courses are designed to support care workers to have the skills and stay up to date with all safe standards in home care, supported living, and residential care. Our courses cover topics such as risk assessment, emergency procedures and manual handling, amongst others. For example, the correct way to lift and shift an object essential for moving it from A to B.
During your training, you will develop the skills needed to assist people with dignity and safely. Proper lifting and repositioning techniques can greatly lessen the risk of injury to yourself and those you support.
Our courses include a mix of theory, practical demonstrations, and group activities to ensure that participants remain involved and retain information. Through the hands-on component of the courses, you gain experience following best practice and practical experience with the types of equipment commonly used in care environments. This includes hoists, stand aids and slide sheets.
