NOCN Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate (RQF)

This Level 2 qualification provides learners with a range of knowledge and skills. Learners will also develop an understanding of Adult Social Care for working in the Health and Social Care sector.

The qualification consists of 15 standards, including quality of care, understanding your role, personal development, safeguarding vulnerable adults, and health and safety. Each standard aims to develop and improve your qualities and skills for daily practice.

For example, if you are working in home care helping people to bathe, get dressed, or make dinner, the Care Certificate helps you understand the importance of privacy and dignity. The qualification also reminds you of the importance of communicating effectively with your peers to ensure that good quality care is consistently provided. It also promotes safeguarding, where you are expected to recognise signs of potential abuse or neglect and take action quickly according to your local authority and organisation’s procedures.

You are usually expected to complete this course within 3 to 6 months depending on the combination of units you have selected and your pace. The course has a 288 guided learning hours requirement. The total qualification time is 360 hours.
