
NOCN Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate (RQF)
This Level 2 qualification provides learners with a range of knowledge and skills. Learners will also develop an understanding of Adult Social Care for working in the Health and Social Care sector.
The qualification consists of 15 standards, including quality of care, understanding your role, personal development, safeguarding vulnerable adults, and health and safety. Each standard aims to develop and improve your qualities and skills for daily practice.
For example, if you are working in home care helping people to bathe, get dressed, or make dinner, the Care Certificate helps you understand the importance of privacy and dignity. The qualification also reminds you of the importance of communicating effectively with your peers to ensure that good quality care is consistently provided. It also promotes safeguarding, where you are expected to recognise signs of potential abuse or neglect and take action quickly according to your local authority and organisation’s procedures.
You are usually expected to complete this course within 3 to 6 months depending on the combination of units you have selected and your pace. The course has a 288 guided learning hours requirement. The total qualification time is 360 hours.
Learners must meet a minimum 36 credits to be awarded the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate qualification by completing the following units:

About this Skills for Care Approved Qualification
This qualification been developed in response to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) appointed PA consulting, Skills for Care, and the Social Care Institute of Excellence to achieve the commitment made within the People at the Heart of Care: adult social care reform white paper, which set out to review the Care Certificate which was introduced in 2015. Following an extensive discovery and engagement process it was preferred that the Care Certificate become a recognised formal Level 2 Certificate qualification in the Adult Social Care Sector.
Entry Requirements for Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate
Learners undertaking this qualification will need to be over the age of 19 and employed within the Adult Social Care Sector, in England. The Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area, however, should not replace employer-specific induction or mandatory training requirements.
Learners must be employed in the sector, in a position to demonstrate the requirements of the qualification and have access to required assessment opportunities and relevant resources. Please refer to specific assessment requirements on individual components for more information.
Progression Routes
Achievement of this qualification confirms the learner has gained the knowledge and skills required to function as a well-trained care worker in adult care. Learners can also progress onto further learning at Level 3 and beyond.

The full cost of the course is £300. To be paid by instalments made up of a deposit of £127.20 and two monthly instalments. Each instalment is £95.40.
